Artists: Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti are architects, urban planners and artists of international repute. They live and work in Bethlehem. Artforum, one of the most authoritative international magazine of contemporary art based in New York, described their work among the most interesting of the last 10 years. They stated, among other things, the Biennale in Venice, the Biennale in Rotterdam, the Istanbul Biennial and the Museum of Modern Art City of Paris.
Their work: The use of art, architecture and planning for Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti is political. The space is seen not so much as a place of building but a place of human affairs. Through their work propose an investigation into how art can influence the environment, architecture and urban planning of the places we live. In order to feed the reflection on these themes, artists often organize informal exchanges, discussions and round tables, seminars and conferences with intellectuals, writers and professionals to offer a higher degree of awareness of our reality of life. Albissola Marina: "Albissola-Bethlehem. The Thousand and One Nights "is a collective event in which, for a period of 2 weeks, artists, scientists, philosophers, historians and writers will meet in the summer evenings around a communal table prepared to welcome guests to share stories and reflections on art and contemporary culture. From the Bible to the Koran

Performance of "theater poetry "- words and music.
Conceived and directed by Giuseppe Conte.
With the extraordinary participation of the poet and essayist Adonis.
Portrayed by actors: Carla Peirolero and Enrico Campana. With musical accompaniment

The project is to produce a staged reading from the book of Adonis - most living Arab poet - "History in the torn body of a woman" (published by Bloomsbury Publishing), dramatic poem on female freedom from a story, like that of Hagar, the concubine of Abraham, which occurs in the Bible and the Qur'an, and does, therefore, a hinge to the great monotheistic religions.
Giuseppe Conte, poet and writer, who first made known to the general public Adonis Italian, is the author of several collections of poetry (Premio Viareggio 2006) and novels, the last of which "adultery" (Manzoni Award 2008 ) deals with similar themes.
Henry Bell, who plays the male voice is linked firmly to the Theatre of the Cough of Genoa which also Peirolero Carla, who will perform the female role, he worked for fifteen years, before turning to the design and production of shows and intercultural events, founding the Festival of Culture and Multiethnic Society of Suq.


The evening will mark the perfect end of the project "Mediterranean - Dialogues between Art and Poetry," a collaboration between the towns of Marina and Albissola Albisola Superiore (SV). In consideration of the issues that face and develop the entire project can be seen in "Waiting for the Biennale," in anticipation of the 2010 Biennale of the Mediterranean to be held in Genoa.
